Children’s Hospital Colorado, Denver
Children’s Hospital Colorado serves as the only level-one trauma center in our seven state region, with an emergency department that sees >70,000 children per year. Our hospital system also includes a network of care system comprised of five urgent care centers and emergency departments, which are primarily staffed by general pediatricians, PAs, and nurse practitioners. These network sites have been the focus of our ImPACTS study. Since our first round of simulations, we have established numerous action items for our networks, with the focus primarily being promoting sepsis management algorithms and standardization/staff familiarity with medical equipment and cognitive aids in our critical care rooms.
