Discover Pediatric Readiness
Laying the groundwork for excellent pediatric care.

Pediatric Readiness is the ability of an ED to deliver safe, timely, and appropriate care to children. It is not about creating a separate system, but ensuring that your existing system is equipped and confident in caring for pediatric patients. From equipment and policies to training and staffing, readiness ensures that every child who walks through your doors receives safe, appropriate, and timely care.
Pediatric Readiness is defined nationally by the National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP), a partnership led by the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Emergency Nurses Association. ImPACTS builds on this framework by helping EDs put readiness into practice through practical tools, mentorship, and peer-driven implementation strategies.
