The ImPACTS Mentorship Model

Empowering pediatric champions to lead sustainable, high-impact pediatric readiness improvements.

ImPACTS Mentorship Model.png

This staged approach is designed to guide Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators (PECCs) in strengthening Pediatric Readiness through mentorship, simulation, and continuous quality improvement. At each stage, PECCs are supported by a Pediatric Readiness Improvement & Simulation Mentor (PRISM), who provides tailored guidance from foundational learning to sustained leadership.

The model includes four developmental stages, each with clear objectives and task-based checklists to help PECCs and PRISMs build knowledge, apply new skills, lead improvement efforts, and champion sustainable change. This structure ensures that champions not only gain knowledge but also create lasting improvements that benefit children, teams, and entire systems of care.

The Four Stages of the Mentorship Model

Each stage of the mentorship model builds knowledge, skills, and leadership capacity in a structured way. Detailed checklists for every stage are available to PECCs through their PRISMs to guide progress and track success.
