Our Mission and Vision for
Pediatric Readiness, Everywhere

Every child deserves safe, high-quality emergency care no matter where they are.

Our mission and vision are simple: to make Pediatric Readiness a national standard, not a luxury. ImPACTS is working toward a future where emergency care for children is consistent, equitable, and effective across every care setting. With the right support, training, and tools, every team can be prepared.

We are striving to make simulation a standard practice in all care settings, with mentorship provided by trusted Pediatric Champions and PRISMs. Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators (PECCs) serve as empowered and visible leaders, supported by ongoing peer connections within a national community. We approach Pediatric Readiness as a system-wide initiative, prioritizing equity to ensure consistent quality of care, regardless of geographic location.

Extending Pediatric Readiness Beyond the ED

While EDs are central to our work, ImPACTS enhances pediatric care readiness across all healthcare settings. By equipping providers with essential training and resources, we ensure that children receive timely and effective care in various environments, from outpatient clinics to urgent care facilities.

Our Approach

We achieve this vision through the national Pediatric Readiness model, grounded in:

  • Simulation-Based Training
Accessible, hands-on learning that helps teams build confidence before critical moments

  • Peer Mentorship
Pediatric Champions guide local leaders and support long-term adoption of best practices

  • Accessible, Open-Access Tools
ImPACTS materials and toolkits are accessible and available to all, regardless of funding or location

  • A National Community of Practice
Our digital Peer Portal connects clinicians across the country for shared learning and support

A Shared Commitment

ImPACTS is not just a program. It’s a growing movement of Pediatric Champions, clinical educators, EMS leaders, and hospital partners working to transform emergency care for children.
