
Marc Auerbach, MD, FAAP, MSc
ImPACTS Co-Chair
Marc Auerbach is the Principal Investigator of the ImPACTS study, a national effort to use simulation to measure and improve the quality of care provided to critically ill and injured children in emergency departments. He is also a Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Yale, where he directs Pediatric Simulation at the Yale Center for Medical Simulation.
Marc has dedicated his career to advancing Pediatric Readiness through innovative approaches such as simulation, collaborative research, and cross-disciplinary partnerships. He brings extensive leadership experience from national roles with HRSA’s Emergency Medical Services for Children program, where he co-leads knowledge management for the EIIC and serves as education co-lead of the Pediatric Pandemic Network. He has also worked closely with community hospitals and EMS agencies through state and national initiatives to strengthen pediatric emergency care.

He completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at New York University and advanced training in simulation at Harvard’s Center for Medical Simulation. Widely recognized for his leadership in pediatric simulation and trauma research, Marc has served as principal investigator on multiple funded projects spanning disaster preparedness, trauma systems, and pediatric emergency care.
Through ImPACTS, Marc continues to champion the goal that every child, regardless of where they live or seek care, receives the highest quality emergency medical treatment.
