You don't need to have every answer before getting started. Successful PECCs build relationships, connect colleagues with available resources and expertise, and help keep Pediatric Readiness moving forward.
Who Can Become
a PECC?
PECCs are healthcare professionals who champion Pediatric Readiness and help coordinate efforts to improve emergency care for children within their ED.
Whenever possible, EDs are encouraged to have both a nurse PECC and a physician PECC. This shared leadership model brings together complementary clinical perspectives and helps strengthen collaboration across disciplines.
Depending on the ED's structure and available resources, the PECC role may look different from one organization to another. What matters is having dedicated pediatric champions who can engage colleagues, connect teams with resources, and help move Pediatric Readiness efforts forward.
